Because the internet is pure dogshit now. AI-generated garbage is everywhere. YouTube's still going down the shitter since forcing people to not say "fuck" uncensored and using shitty moderation bots to flag random videos for dumb reasons instead of taking down actual ones that DO need to be flagged. Tumblr shot itself after banning porn and forced people to use Twitter where they are hardwired to do stupid trends for the sake of numbers, and have petty fights against randos or brands.
None of this is okay, and I hate it.

Even BlueSky screws itself up by having videos be forced to have auto-normalized audio messing with the dynamics, and have hundreds of soulless husks of bots following me.

All of this happening is really depressing and infuriating at the same time. I just want to discover new stuff without the occasional pessimist retweets or a popup that tells me that I have to sign up. I want to rewatch stuff without them being censored for new policies or disintegrated into link rot. The centralization of the internet really fucked the niche communities over and squeezed themselves into walled gardens and echo chambers, and I can't stand this shit anymore.

With how godawful things are going, I now use this website as my home for doing whatever the hell I want with little to no interference, and help others break away from the monotonous bleakness of the corporate internet like I'm doing right now.
